From humble beginnings in a small rented office, Stuart Bowie (founder of the Kinley Group) built Raaft® on a belief there’s always a better way to do things. What started as a single idea has grown into a team of designers, engineers and specialists who share a passion for innovation and a genuine care for the people they work with.
Kinley Systems was founded in March, operating, from Haywood Way, Hastings. The Journey began with a specific focus in, specialist commercial grade landscape Edging.
Launched a full suite of landscape edging products in plastic, steel, and aluminium. Our first landmark project: Fishing Boat Roundabout at Hastings Station.
Pioneered the market with our enhanced AluExcel aluminium edging - introducing a rigid format and square top edge.This product was the first of its kind.
We delivered our first large-scale bespoke steel planters project at Serpentine Sackler Gallery, London.
We completed our first major bespoke steel project: Handyside Park in King’s Cross. Setting a new benchmark for quality and design.
Kinley’s key standout case study: Endeavour School, Andover - Pre-formed edging. The unique shapes designed by the architect were achieved by utilising the pre-forming service offered by Kinley systems on our ExcelEdge range.
We moved into our new offices at Northpoint, Compass Park near Bodium.
Raaft was born! Set up as a trading arm within Kinley promoting a composite decking system that rapidly become favoured for rooftop applications in London and other major cities. Uncovering an exciting new direction.
Paneltech was aquired! Bringing fabrication in-house to boost quality control, streamline operations and support future growth.

City Walk was our first major project in Dubai, featuring Kinley AluExcel aluminium edging.
The first Kinley showroom was opened at 119 St. John Street, Clerkenwell - bringing our rooftop vision to the heart of London’s architectural community.
Established Raaft Ltd as an independent company specialising in modular, non-combustable terrace systems, responding to industry demand in the wake Grenfell.
We launched Raaft USA and secured the Hudson Yards project in New York.
We opened the Kinley Innovation Centre, a dedicated facility focused on excellence in planter manufacturing and roof terrace systems. All staff were moved into one location.
Won iconic European Project in Gibraltar.
Begun building works at Westpoint and moved factory.
