Provide Service Access on Roof Terraces

Minimise disruption and ensure easy roof access with Raaft® complete terrace system.

The Challenge

Following installation of a roof terrace system, access to the space below will still be required for rooftop maintenance and repairs. However, features such as heavy planters and planter systems can often be located in areas that make access difficult.

To minimise disruption, roof terrace features should ideally be located away from these areas, allowing for clear access points through walkways and other areas covered by decking or tiles.

The Solution

The Raaft® terrace system is designed to hold our decking and tile products securely in place using only the framework of the terrace system and gravity. For the most part, this will be sufficient, but if the terrace is in a location exposed to high or gusting winds, wind uplift may potentially be a problem.

To overcome this we have developed our design-protected anti-uplift clip system. Available in tough nylon or stainless steel, these clips unobtrusively align with a groove cut into the edges of all our composite and porcelain decking and tile products, using spring pressure to hold the deck or tile firmly in the frame.

Independently tested, they meet BS EN 1991-1-4: 2005 + + A1:2010 Eurocode 1 regulations and so will resist all typical UK wind conditions.

Even if wind uplift isn’t an issue, Raaft® clips will ensure a stable, solid terrace surface that exudes permanence and quality yet is easily removed for servicing and maintenance access.
